Joe has 35 years of photography experience. After 10 years as a jockey riding racehorses, it was time to switch careers. Joe was interested in win circle photography at the race track, and had to go to school to learn the tricks of the trade, where he became interested in commercial photography. He then worked for a large commercial studio in Chicago, assisting 8 different photographers over two years, gaining experience in room sets to location, fashion and product photography. He gained a well rounded knowledge of the photo business working in the photo and art production as well.In 1979 Joe started working on his own and moved to New York City in 1983 to open his first studio in Soho, eventually giving in to the call of the wild. He moved south, looking for a place to do photography and play cowboy. He bought a 20 acre farm just outside Fayetteville, AR for his horses and cats, and has a studio in town. Joe has been classified as a Photo Generalist, as he is able to shoot a wide variety of things. He photographs with both digital and film.
