Before digital, Russell worked around Manhattan as a freelance graphic artist with rapidograph pens, x-acto knife and t-square. His skills in design, illustration, hand lettering, building packaging comps. and post production, kept him very busy working for large and small corporations, advertising agencies and design firms, designing packaging to illustrating products. Working in these various situations broadened his skills and knowledge of the commercial business of image and brand building. Besides working on individual projects, He spent many years developing brands for Colgate-Palmolive (such as Palmolive Dishwashing Liquid, Colgate Toothbrush), Avon Products, Elizabeth Arden and others After getting his first digital camera almost 15 years ago, he has spent the last decade honing his photography and retouching skills with the Harman Consumer Group a subsidiary of Harman International, photographing products for brands including, Harman/Kardon, JBL, Infinity, Revel, Audio Access and Mark Levinson.
